For members of SCMA, Complete Equity Markets, Inc. will waive the general policy fee (~$25.00) for liability policies. CEM can be contacted at the number below depending on which coverage you are looking for. Ask for “mediator’s liability insurance” and let them know that you are a member of SCMA. SCMA Listserv

The purpose of the SCMA listserv is to provide an online forum for our members which facilitates information exchange and discussion among those interested in mediation and conflict resolution in Southern California. The listserv is designed to provide our members with the opportunity to solicit advice on issues relating to their mediation practices, seeking out resources, sharing mediation related articles and resources, and posting career opportunities.

The listserv is open only to all current members of the SCMA organization. Any member who would prefer not to participate on the listserv may elect to opt-out.

Once you become a member of SCMA, log in and then find the listserv address in under the help menu at the top of the SCMA home page. If you need help, send an email to [email protected].

Professional Development Groups (PDGs)

SCMA Professional Development Groups (PDG’s) are member-led peer groups connecting SCMA members for the purpose of sharing, supporting one another, and staying up to date with current and ongoing developments in the mediation field. The topics are varied allowing for plenty of dialogue where members can learn from each other. DEFINITELY one of our most popular activities with attendance varying from 12 - 30 at each session.

Each group has its own personality and focus. Using the Zoom platform, all sessions are easy to access, normally run about 90 minutes in the evenings, and are FREE to members. Non-members are allowed to attend two sessions when they are considering whether to join or not. Members will receive emails notifying them of upcoming PDG events or you can check out our calendar on the SCMA website.

Discounts to all Events

Members receive a discount to all events from what a non-member would pay.  In addition, if you register as a 'Sustaining Member' many of our webinars will be free or at a further reduced rate than what other members receive.

"Find a Mediator" Directory

Once you become a member, all of the information that you input into your profile will automatically be imported into the 'Find a Mediator directory.  The Find a Mediator directory can be used by non-members to search for a specific type of mediator by area of expertise, skill base, location, language background, and many other specifics. Also, SCMA members can use it to do the same thing for networking purposes.
