Born in Brooklyn, refined in Manhattan, polished in Los Angeles, and burnished by world travel & diverse, “real-world” experience, I consider myself a resource of practical business and legal experience. While concentrating my mediation practice and marketing efforts on small business, contractor, entertainment, special ed, real estate and personal injury conflicts, I work and/or volunteer with the ABA Dispute Resolution Section; SC Family Mediation; OC Human Relations (Small Claims); and continue to be a Group Leader for the SCMA Online Dispute Resolution (Virtual) PDG. I consider conflict an opportunity for the participants to find a mutually workable resolution. Disputes cannot be settled if they are only seen as “either/or”. When parties perceive the dispute in a different light, as a different possibility, then they become empowered, no longer limited by a finite set of options or way to achieve their best result. I joined the SCMA community to dive deeper into learning more about the process and art of dispute resolution. I have come to realize that not only do mediators need to join and learn from one another, but that we have a duty (if not calling) to support and elevate the profession in the eyes of the public and to spread the possibilities of mediation as a method of relief from conflicts and disharmony in society.
I am committed to deepening my relationships and to building, together, a growing community of exceptional professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experience. I want to grow the SCMA both from the inside and to the outside.
