Charles (Chuck) Ervin
Charles Ervin is a mediator and judge in the Judicial Council of California Assigned Judges Civil Mediation Program. Serving on the Sierra County Superior Court since 2011, he handles all case types and sits on assignments in various courts throughout the state. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Cum Laude, from Cornell University. He operated a private solo general law practice for 26 years. He is a retired Army Reserve finance officer. He now serves on the California Judges Association Judicial Outreach committee, among other judicial committees, and is a board member of the Kids Managing Conflict and Niroga Institute charitable non-profit entities. As past president of the California Association of Youth Courts, he is an advocate for justice for youth by youth and stopping the school-to-prison pipeline. He focuses on creating, advancing and implementing evidence-based practices and problem-solving methodologies to engage justice-involved individuals with resources to increase access to justice and help to abate conflict.
