Current President - 2020
After five years as an SCMA member, I came onto the Board in December of 2017 to serve out the term of another board member. In December of 2018 I was elected as President-Elect and became the Board President in December of 2019. I have served on several different Board committees, served as co-chair for the 2019 Annual Conference, and serve as the co-lead for the South Bay PDG.
I retired in December of 2015 after thirty-six years in Human Resources at the Boeing Company. During my tenure, I managed all aspects of the Human Resources function at the plant site level. Over the years this included activities such as arbitrations, union negotiations, and mediations as part of the company’s ADR process.
Currently, I provide pro bono mediation for Small Claims court, Unlawful Detainer court, and on employment matters with the EEOC. I served as a board member on my local homeowner's association and will participate on a softball team again when the current pandemic subsides.
I received my BA in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1977, my Masters in Labor & Industrial Relations from Michigan State in 1979, a post graduate certificate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from CS Dominguez Hills in 2015, and obtained my MC3 certification in December of 2019.
I have enjoyed my time on the board these past three years and consider it an honor and a privilege to serve you as the President in 2020. SCMA has seen a great deal of growth over the years that coincides with the growth and maturity of the mediation profession. To that end, during 2020 our intent is to focus on improving our infrastructure and internal systems to support this growth.
