Dr. Alexia Georgakopoulos
Alexia Georgakopoulos, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Conflict Studies at Nova Southeastern University, USA. She is the Director of the Institute of Conflict Resolution and Communication, a conflict resolution training and consulting firm specializing in delivering conflict resolution educational training and mediation certification to professionals. A world class scholar and practitioner in mediation with numerous articles, book chapters, and speaking engagements, she was featured on NBC’s Today Show to discuss peace in the diverse world. Alexia Georgakopoulos is the Editor of The Handbook of Mediation: Theory, Research and Practice, by Routledge, 2017
Dr. Rebecca Storrow
Dr. Rebecca Storrow holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. She is a Regional Vice President with the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Miami, Florida, managing large commercial arbitration cases. She is a member of the AAA-ICDR Foundation Grants Committee, a charitable foundation which funds innovative ADR work specifically serving underserved populations. She is a member of the AAA Educational Services faculty and supports the work of AAAMediation.org. Dr. Storrow has Florida Supreme Court certification in family, dependency, circuit, and county mediation. She was ADR Program Director for two Florida Judicial Circuit Courts, and her areas of expertise include mediation, organizational conflict management, ADR education, and indigenous forms of conflict resolution. Her Master of Science degree is in Organizational Leadership, conducting research on institutionalized forms of mediation. Dr. Storrow is an active member in national and regional professional ADR organizations and was appointed by Chief Justice Peggy Quince to the Florida Supreme Court Task Force on Foreclosure in 2009. Dr. Storrow co-authored two chapters in the 2018 first edition of the Mediation Handbook, edited by Dr. Alexia Georgakopoulos.
