For its August meeting, the Westside PDG will discuss forgiveness.

I recently read an article about when it's arguably healthier not to forgive(8 times when forgiveness is not the healthiest response - The Washington Post) and this prompted me to think about forgiveness in mediation.

I believe the consensus is that unresolved conflict is unhealthy and that in turn the act of forgiveness is beneficial for one's health (Forgiveness: Your Health Depends on It | Johns Hopkins Medicine). Are you of the opinion that forgiveness has no place in your mediations or are you overly cautious and avoid the subject altogether? Are you always open to the possibility and mediate a little “dangerously” when you see an opening? Which telltale signs do you look for or is it simply a matter of intuition?
