Have you ever had an unexpected situation happen when mediating and wondered, “How did that happen?”  It could be a sudden attitude shift or a frustrating impasse. After the mediation, we often celebrate a triumph or lament a failure, but then move on to our next case. What if we used these puzzling moments to become more effective, resilient, and resourceful? We do just that in case consultation groups using the Reflective Practice method developed by Reflective Practice Institute founders Michael Lang and Susan Terry. Please join Reflective Practice Institute Associates, Ellen Waldorf and Laurie Amaya, who will present an interactive talk on Reflective Practice showing us the benefits we can gain from participating in a Reflective Practice Group.

Laurie and Ellen will be seeking one person to volunteer during the presentation to explore an experience during a mediation that was puzzling or surprising to them.  Maybe it was frustrating, perplexing, difficult, or even successful and the person wasn’t sure what led to the success. If you are willing to volunteer, please reply to this email by November 9th, 2023You do not need to let us know in advance any details of the experience.
