We'll be discussing power imbalances in mediation and what, if anything, could/should the mediator do to "level the playing field." Some mediators believe strongly that it's their role as the mediator to create a space that is "safe," "fair" and "equal" and thus must mediate in such a way as to address the power imbalance and create and maintain that space, while others are of the opinion that it's imperative that they as the mediator must remain "neutral" and thus do nothing which might "favor" the party lacking in power.
