This meeting will be a discussion around using the basics of language to our advantage in mediations. We invite you to read the Mediate.com article -https://www.mediate.com/metaphors-and-mediation/ - before the meeting. Our conversation will be around using metaphors and sensory language to: - Convert the connotation of conflict in the room
- Avoid misinterpretation of the message being conveyed
- Mimic the room in a way that creates space for clients to follow the mediator’s lead
- Create a shared definition of the issue at hand, and alter confrontational messages
