The Coachella Valley is the beautiful setting for this year’s Family Mediation Institute getaway weekend in the desert.  Now in its 5th year, SCMA’s Family Mediation Institute has added a third day to this traditionally two-day event to expand the opportunities for family mediators and other divorce professionals.  We have chosen the award winning resort, the Hyatt Regency Resort in Indian Wells located in the heart of the desert as the venue for SCMA first getaway destination conference.

On top of the stunning mountain vistas, seven pools, world class spa, tennis, 2 PGA golf courses, great shopping, restaurants and the abundance of open-air spaces and outdoor activities, the FMI will provide a congenial atmosphere for colleagues to gather and connect with conflict resolution professionals from all over California and the United States.

This year, FMI will again provide amazing opportunities for career development and advancement including:

  • Friday afternoon’s Special Workshop spotlighting the career and contributions of Dr. Constance Ahrons, this year’s recipient of the Forrest “Woody” Mosten SCMA Star Award.
  • Saturday’s Keynote Speaker, Chip Rose
  • Six Workshop Choices including cutting edge topics and our first Skill Building Workshop Track
  • Sunday will feature plenary speaker’s Louise Phipps Senft and Fern Tolkas Salka, and on Sunday we will present a screening of Ellen Bruno’s Film Split Up – The Teen Years.

Our Exhibitor Hall, Friday night Reception and Mixer, Saturday Luncheon, and Breakfast Buffets over the three-day conference  will provide excellent opportunities for you to network with colleagues and build your professional divorce resources.

You won’t want to miss this special opportunity to connect with people who share your passion for family conflict resolution and the shared desire to positively transform the culture of divorce for the benefit of separating families and their children.
