Please join us for the August meeting of the SCMA Family Professional Development Group (PDG) for Family Mediators.  This month Susan North, Mediator, parent educator, and author of “The Opposite of Combat”, a training manual for parents about mediating sibling disputes, will talk about her book which braids together her three passions - child development, parent education, and mediation.  This book teaches parents and caregivers the knowledge and skills necessary to help children of all ages navigate their own conflicts and develop trust and confidence in their decision-making abilities and includes tips on commonsense tools for improving everyday family communication and for making mediation work.  Susan will share how she teaches the parents to develop an "inside-out" understanding of how mediation works.
