The Attorney Outreach Committee of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) invites you to attend a FREE one-hour webinar on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. PST. The program features two exceptional panelists – revered mediator Jan Frankel Schau, and acclaimed civil litigator Gretchen Nelson – who will share their wisdom about how best to prepare for and participate in Zoom mediations, the new Gold Standard in Alternative Dispute Resolution since the beginning of last year. James K. Cameron, Co-Chair of the SCMA Attorney Outreach Committee, will moderate.This program is designed especially for civil litigators who wish to enhance their skill sets to maximize the returns for themselves and their clients using Zoom mediation. You do not need to be a member of SCMA in order to attend. Our two panelists will examine, from both the mediator’s and the litigator’s perspectives, (1) how best to prepare yourselves, your clients, and opposing counsel for Zoom mediation; (2) the benefits of Online Mediation over traditional “in-person” dispute resolution; (3) tips for effective on-camera communication with other participants; (4) advanced features on Zoom that enhance your ease of communication during the mediation; (5) important Do’s and Don’ts for parties and counsel during the mediation; and (6) other Best Practices that can help you achieve the most for your clients during Zoom mediation.
