As neutrals and advocates, we are most effective when we work  to resolve disputes early, economically, and fairly through a process that helps parties make informed decisions based on an objective assessment of their cases.

This course will show you how to use the process set forth in the Early Dispute Resolution protocols developed by the Early Dispute Resolution Institute, https://edrinstitute.org/latest-protocols/.

You’ll learn the four steps in the EDR process:
• Initial dispute assessment
• Information and document exchange (including experts if needed)
• Risk analysis
• Final resolution

You’ll also get interactive, hands-on training on how to create and use decision trees for risk analysis, a powerful tool that gives each party a realistic understanding of the case’s value and the risks inherent in litigating rather than settling.

The training is practical and thorough—you’ll come away with a new and comprehensive approach to dispute resolution, armed with risk analysis tools that will increase the likelihood of settling your cases, both in early dispute resolution and in traditional mediation.
